View from 2008

These are the Wrangell Mountains as seen from our plane ride home last June. This was one of my favorite views from the whole trip, and we only got to see it from the air. It was a great final image to take home, but made me want to turn the plane around so I could stay.

This year, we'll be going into Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, so we'll get to see what these mountains look like up close.

The tentative plan for Road Trip '09 is to take the long way there and the quick(est) way back. So before reaching Alaska, we'll make stops at Badlands NP in South Dakota, Glacier NP in Montana, and several as-yet unknown places in the Canadian Rockies. (Now that school is over, I can spend countless hours mapping out our itinerary–and apparently starting the blog that won't actually be used for another almost two months.)

I'll be attempting to keep this blog much more up-to-date and picture-filled than last year's, since I have my new netbook to take with me.

On a sidenote, I have to warn everyone: last year, the amount of postcards I sent was insane, so don't expect to get quite as many this time around. I will make sure everyone whose address I have gets at least one, but I can make no guarantees for multiples. :(
